a possible solution ist to export the question-xml to a simple table like (id, title, description, xml). then, if you choose an item from this list, the question will be xml-imported.

We would love to (help) implement this feature, we have a project that requires such a library functionality. I think for many research purposes this is a good feature to have. I am in fact surprised to see there are not other users requesting this feature.

I would like the possibility to have separate Questions, Question groups and whole surveys as templates in a library and an easy way to add them to a new survey, perhaps an "add from library" button. Also an easy way to save existing questions, question groups and surveys to the library would be nice. The library preferably enables versioning of the various objects in there so you can use and link to a specific version of a question or group in your survey.

An easy step towards this functionality could be to allow importing and exporting questionnaires, single questions, questiongroups and whole surveys, formatted according to the DDI standard: https://ddialliance.org/
